Description

We have for sale a very attractive pair of Victorian silver candlesticks.

These lovely candle sticks consist of a stepped square base extending to stem terminating in a flared sconce. The stem of each candle stick is decorated with garlands and ribbons. The base of each candle stick carries full English hallmarks for Birmingham 1894 along with the makers marks for Ellis Jacob Greenburg.

The base of each candlestick is 3.25 (8.25cm) wide and the candlesticks are 4.75 inches (12cm) high. The bodies of the candlesticks are in a very good antique condition although the makers marks and date letter are rubbed but legible on one candlestick and the sconces do carry some indentations (see photograph 4).

Penrose Antiques Ltd has clarified that the Victorian Candlesticks Ellis Jacob Greenburg 1894 (H0001 / LA70754) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being 1894.

Condition
