Description

Thomas Heming was an important silversmith In the latter part of the 18th century. He became principal goldsmith to King George 3rd and was made responsible for the regalia and Plate used at his coronation.

This salver made by Heming is of high quality. It has been made with a heavy gauge of silver and sits firmly on 3 hoof feet and has a wide Chippendale border. There are 3 vacant cartouches surrounding a central crest. The salver is in very good condition and sits firmly on the feet but there is one minor blemish in the form of a repaired pinhole in the centre, only about 2mm wide and not very obvious but mentioned for total accuracy.
