Description

John Crouch 1 and Thomas Hannah were Georgian silversmiths who specialised in the manufacture of trays and salvers. This is an unusual example in that it is of octagonal shape and stands on 4 bracket feet which have band decoration. The tray is clearly hallmarked for London 1790.

The tray/salver has been made with a heavy gauge of silver, no repairs or damage and just the usual light surface marks due to usage. It sits firmly on the 4 feet, has a raised banded rim to the 8 sides and a very impressive coat of arms to the centre.

A fine Georgian tray/salver from these specialist silversmiths.
