Stunning oak Lambing chair on Rockers, the rockers have been replaced during it’s life time. Lambing chairs are usually from the Lancashire and Yorkshire Dales, during the 1750/ 1850. The name coming from the trade of sheep farming in the regions where the chairs were used by the Shepard’s at Lambing time. The variety of design suggest they were made by cabinets makers and carpenters as individual orders.
Bates Antiques has clarified that the 18th Century Oak Lambing Chair (LA225344) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1780
Old replacement made to One leather strap on seat. Has had the rockers replaced during its life .
