This is a stunning vintage French import 3.29 carat Ceylon sapphire and 0.82 carat diamond, 18 carat white gold and platinum set dress ring; part of our diverse antique jewellery collections This stunning, fine and impressive unheated sapphire ring has been crafted in 18 ct white gold with a platinum setting. The pierced decorated, cluster arrangement displays a stunning feature 3.29 ct octagonal cut Ceylon* sapphire, four claw set in relief to the centre of the design. The sapphire is flanked on either side with an individually collet set Old European round cut diamond. The upper and lower borders of the surrounding setting are embellished with a further eighteen pavé set transitional modern brilliant round cut diamonds, held within a scalloped edged design. The pierced decorated, elevated ring shoulders meet the main setting and join the plain ring shank at a subtle stepped design. The outer surface of the shank is hallmarked with the French import marks for platinum (masked man) and 18 ct gold (owl). This stunning vintage 1950s jewellery is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card for the diamonds, in addition to a full sapphire certificate and report card produced by the Gemmological Certification Services. * Ceylon sapphires (mined only in Sri Lanka) are known for their unique colour, ranging from very pale blue to vibrant almost electric blue. The colours noted within Ceylon sapphires occur naturally and do not tend to be heat treated, the most sought after known as the cornflower blue. Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone.
