This is a stunning and very interesting original late 18th Century Oil Portrait Painting depicting Mr Bartley, Son of Alexander Bartley, of 243 Oxford Street, London. Circle of, or possibly by a pupil of 'Sir Henry Raeburn' Ra (British 1756-1823). The work is incredibly detailed and portrays the very smartly dressed gentleman in a half-length portrait Pose. Exceptional attention to detail, with an old period label verso with an inscription that reads: 'Portrait of Mr Bartley, father of Alexander Bartley of 243 Oxford Street, London....by Georgiani, a pupil of Raeburn' Mounted within the large original period giltwood & gesso Frame. The work is offered in an overall superb condition commensurate with age. The period frame has many gilt/gesso losses and there are many signs showing that it has been repaired and retouched, however, when hung, it looks to be in perfect keeping for a period painting that is over 200 years old.
