A delightful and unusual high-quality French pottery mantle Clock. Very few of these types of clock come to market, so also scarce. The clocks wonderful Art Nouveau inspired pottery case has been glazed with a layer of course sand, surrounding the clocks main body, then beautifully hand-crafted and decorated with floral depictions in a range of pastel colours. The white enamelled chapter ring has Medieval Franco style Arabic numerals with a plain brushed brass central disc and is finished tastefully with a pair of brass Cathedral style hands with pinned collet and all protected by thick bevelled glaze mounted in a moulded brass bezel. Accessed via a hinged fretwork brass door lined with linen, is the superbly engineered 8-day French pendulum movement, in fine working order having been recently serviced, and comes with its original pendulum and a brass winding key.
