Large Wrought Iron Hexagonal Lantern Cage

Wonderful large hexagonal lantern cage, this is made of wrought iron and has hanging loops at both the top and bottom apex, with a further six loops around the top hexagonal band. It is decorated with leaf shapes and there are flowers around the top and bottom metal borders. It has a great patina from outdoor use, giving it the character of its age. At around a metre in height it will make a fabulous statement piece at the front of any house. While it will make a great cage for a lantern, it will support a hanging basket liner at the bottom and would look splendid with hanging plants or ivy. Dating to circa 1880, this is made of wrought iron and originates from Paris, France.
