Description

A well-proportioned 1920’s French Art Deco marble striking mantel clock set with a full-length and eye-catching spelter Alsatian dog in a lying position. This fine clock set is made of variegated marble in various colours and immersed in Deco period embellishment and architecture. It has a grey metal dial with Deco classic Arabic numerals and its original pair of period bespoke hands. The dial is then protected by a bevelled glaze mounted in its diamond shaped chrome bezel. The clock has a high-quality French circular 8-day pendulum driven movement, with an outside count wheel regulating its striking mechanism and accessed via its rear hinged and fretted brass door. The backplate has its serial numbers impressed into it and the mechanism strikes the hours and half-hours on its nickel ‘ting bell’. It comes with an authentic French pendulum and brass winding key.
