Description
Painter, draughtsman, mural artist, printmaker and teacher, and sculptor. Born in Staffordshire, studied at Southport and Liverpool schools of art and latterly at the Royal College of Art, where his teachers included Tom Monnington and Randolph Schwabe. Between 1928-1937, he assisted Alfred Kingsley Lawrence, another of his tutors at the Royal College, to complete the Bank of England Murals. Working as a painter, mural artist, print maker and later sculptor, Sutton exhibited at the Royal Academy and in the provenances.
