A charming William III silver-gilt trefid-end spoon with a ribbed rattail, made by specialist maker John King in London in 1696, just before the higher Britannia standard for silver was introduced in 1697. A tactile pleasing spoon with the original silver gilding with just minor wear here and there. Good clear maker’s mark, the other three with some age-related wear but all fully readable.
