A bone china teapot and cover, decorated with stylised landscapes, hand-painted in pink lustre. Made in Staffordshire around 1840. Like so many of these pieces it is unmarked.
The teapot stands 7 3/4 inches high, including the cover and measures 10 inches from spout to handle.
Roger Stretch Antiques has clarified that the Staffordshire Lustre Decorated Teapot & Cover C.1840 (8418 / LA133497) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1840.
Overall, in very good, original, sound condition save for some bruising to the glaze in one or two places. The decoration is in good, unworn condition.
