Description

A very attractive late 18th Century longcase clock by John Hudson of Nottingham. He is listed as working there from 1795 to 1799. The case is in oak with extensive mahogany banding and some very attractive 'Tunbridge' style inlay. The good quality 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell. It has an attractive painted dial that is in original unrestored condition.

Cross Antiques has clarified that the late 18th Century oak & mahogany longcase clock (LA140690) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being 1795.

The case is in excellent condition having being recently restored. The movement is also in good, clean condition, running well and keeping good time.
