Description

A pine longcase clock made in the early 19th century with an enchanting scene within the Arch depicting a huntsman in Top hat with his dog. The solid pine case has a break arch hood and a simple case. The light case, outstanding colours on the dial with the arch painting and curlicue signature make a great combination for the eye. The dial has a subsidiary seconds and date dial and is signed by the maker Samuel Thompson of Darlington, who is listed as working 1825-1834. It has an 8 day movement that strikes the hours on a bell.
