Description

This is a lovely hallmarked silver jug made by J & A Savory and hallmarked in London 1837 the year that William IV died and Queen Victoria became Queen.

It is in very good condition and has been made with a thick gauge of silver. It retains its original gilding and hallmarks are clearly struck on the base. There is a beautiful and substantial handle which incorporates a thumbpiece. The jug sits firmly on a raised base with 4 ornate feet. Banded decoration to the body, upper rim and handle.

A fine 19th century silver jug of high quality.
