19th Century Victorian Cast Iron Demi Lune Stick Stand

Architectural form, compact foot print and full of nice, tiny detail. Gorgeous Victorian cast iron stick/umbrella stand from around the mid 1800's, in the manner of Coalbrookdale, extremally well cast with an abundance of detail, beyond what you would naturally expect. Charming, demi lune in shape, fleur-de-lis adorn the soft softly shaped front skirting forming the base to hold the removable drip tray. The tray is dived in to two sections and a has a rope edge. The back support starts with a bamboo style beading along the front, two spiral uprights on the left and right sides, this forms the frame to which then creates an espalier of vines and flowers, rising to a central oval section with two winged cherubs either side. The stick support follows the lines of the demi lune base and have been shaped to compliment the foliage design. Stamped on the base with a diamond registered mark, but the casting is very pitted so not as clear as other examples. Nevertheless very well cast, exceptionally good design, with lots of time honored wear in the right places. Only one available in this style and design.
