Antique Scottish Granite & Silver Brooch with Kite Mark, Design Registration

19th Century Victorian antique silver and pink and grey granite brooch, in the form of a Maltese cross with a central shield shape, all set with granite. No makers marks and no hallmarks, which is not unusual for a item of Scottish jewellery of this age but what is unusual is that there is a design registration mark from the mid 1800s, the kite form. Look at picture one, the top section just to the left of centre, there is a crack in the granite, an old one, not immediately obvious but still there and has has been there for a long time though all is secure and this is reflected in the price. Partially cleaned before it came into my possession.
