Description

We present for consideration, this elegant well-proportioned French Boulle mantel timepiece, of Louis Xv renaissance. Resting on its four cabriole brass feet, this classically architectural Boulle timepiece with ebonised case, exhibits finely engraved Rococo style ormolu scrollwork garniture, with further enrichment of red tortoiseshell and gilt Boulle inlay of Arabesque form and a foliate shaped apex mount. The sculptured gilt cast dial has black hand-painted Roman numerals, (each numeral being set into a white enamelled cartouche), finished with the clocks original blued hands of bespoke design. The dial is then protected by bevelled glaze in an embossed brass bezel. The clock’s high-quality French 8-day pendulum driven circular movement, is stamped with its serial number, and accessed via a hinged and fretted brass rear door.
