Lovely piece of treen, which is approx 3cm in diameter just over an inch and stands about 3.5cm high. Inside is a small powder ball made of silk and cotton wool. One end has a flat surface. This small wooden sphere, c1901, is nearly the size of a ping-pong ball. Made of polished wood. It is bisected in the middle, as it is two pieces screwed together. When unscrewed, it reveals it miniature powder puff. The puff is probably made of marabou ( which was in use during the late 19th Century), attached to purple velvet which surrounds a tiny silk handle. There are still remnants of powder at the bottom of the box.
