Description
3rd-4th century AD. A carved schist statue fragment of Buddha standing with palms pressed together over the heart in the 'Namaskara Mudra' or ‘Hridayanjali Mudra' that represents the gesture of greeting, prayer and adoration. Finely detailed with pleated dhoti with draped swags, segmented collar and draped necklace. Mounted on a custom-made stand. See Jongeward, D.
