Vintage Stratton in Hand Enamel & Marcasite Powder Compact c.1950

Offered for your consideration is this elegant Stratton powder compact which measures 7.5 cm in diameter. The case is made of polished, shiny gold tone metal with machine turned circular pattern to the base. The lid is in glossy black enamel decorated to the centre with an applied silver tone metal flower basked accented with genuine marcasite stones. The compact has firm hinge and secure catch and opens to reveal a clear and reflective framed glass mirror under the lid. The mirror has the original instruction sticker. The powder well in the base is covered by a hinged door marked with the Stratton in Hand logo. This door opens correctly by gently pressing back the lid and it pops open to access the powder well beneath which is empty of powder and has the original sifter and Stratton marked puff. This vintage powder compact dates circa 1950 and is offered in very good condition with no dents or dings to the case, no metal tarnish, no chips or cracks to the enamel lid and no losses to the marcasite stones.
