Description
1917 Waltham pocket watch for Thomas Russell.
The watch has a seven-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is the Marquis grade but was re-named Tempus for Thomas Russell, their logo included the wording Tempus Fugit. The movement is signed American Waltham USA, Tempus and it has the serial number 21776493 which dates it back to around 1917.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is the gold plated and was made by the Illinois Watch Case Company. The case has a screw on front and back. The case has light surface marking but overall is in good condition.
The watch has an acrylic lens which is in nice condition.
The dial is signed with the Thomas Russell winged wheel logo together with Waltham USA. Thomas Russell was a well respected business having achieved a Royal Warrant as watch and clock makers to the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.
The dial is in nice condition. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
