Description
The watch has a Swiss 17-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the name Libela Watch Company.
The watch measures 29mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs so it is a mid-size piece. The case is chromium plated while the screw-on case back is stainless steel. The case is in good condition with just light surface marks, nothing too serious at all. The case back states that the watch is water protected but, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water and moisture. The inside of the case back is signed Lebela Watch Company.
The lens is in good condition.
The dial is signed Garon, a brand name registered by the New York watch importer Arron Stern Inc. in 1948. The dial is in its original finish with original hands, red centre seconds hand and outer minute markers.
The dial and movement are signed with different names, this could be for a number of reasons, it could be the watch was imported by Arron Stern and he wanted the Garon name on the dial., so a private label piece or the movement could be a period replacement movement, of the right calibre but signed by a different company.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.

All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
