Alfred Vickers (1786-1868) was a self taught artist, whose light and sparking style has been compared to Boudin. Exhibited at the Royal Academy 1831-6BI (125 works) and SS. Painted English views, especially river scenes, using a range of pale greens which is very distinctive. Works by him are in Glasgow, Nottingham and Sheffield Art Gallery.
