Description

This antique sterling silver novelty match holder was made by W & G Neale and hallmarked in London 1907.

It is in very good condition and sits firmly on a circular base. Made with a thick gauge of silver the trough holds the matches. The main feature is a cockerel which stands on a bar which pivots for the opened mouth to dive into the matches. Hallmarks are clearly struck. The trough has strikers to both sides.

A novel and well made Edwardian silver piece.
