Description

This is a substantially made wooden stamp box with a sterling silver top made by Charles Perry Brown and clearly hallmarked for Birmingham 1902.

It is in very good condition quite heavy and probably has lead in the base. The sloping lid closes fully on a spring and there are two old English postage stamps behind the glass. Internally the box has a central divide to give two compartments.

Hallmarks are very clearly struck - altogether a very good example.
