Antique Silver Cufflink / Jewellery / Ring / Trinket Box

This large silver oval trinket box is made by Boots Pure Drug Company and comes from the early 20th Century when the company started carrying a wide range of everyday silver items including; boxes, book covers, buckles, button hooks, candlesticks, cigarette cases, comb holders, decanter labels, dishes, dressing table sets, frames, jar tops, manicure sets, mustards, napkin clips, napkin rings, pencil holders, pepperettes, pincushions, purses, scissors, souvenir spoons, stamp cases, table lighters, pin trays, vestas, etc. Indeed in 1969 they briefly re-entered the silver business with a Commemorative Apollo 11 moon landing medallion. Consequently, it is no surprise that this (2nd decade of production) Boots lidded trinket box, complete with gilt lid interior is of good quality and a reasonable gauge silver. Alas it was another find where the original interior had been removed, enabling us to install a new dusky pink interior which we have found to be very popular.
