This distinguished pair of late Victorian library or desk chairs exemplifies the elegance and craftsmanship of the period. Constructed from richly figured solid mahogany, each chair showcases a graceful tub-back design with sweeping arms and turned front supports. The intricately carved backrest features a stylised central splat adorned with classical motifs and a decorative roundel cresting. The chairs have been professionally upholstered with new deep-buttoned leather seats, each hand-dyed to achieve a distinctive and sophisticated green hue. The leather has been carefully antiqued, enhancing the overall patina and character while complementing the warm tones of the mahogany frames. The seats are finished with traditional brass stud detailing. Standing on boldly turned front legs and splayed back legs, all set on brass casters. In excellent condition, ready for the home.
