Author: Baldassar Graziano (Baltasar Gracian) 1601-1658

Publication: Venezia, Apresso Giovan-Gabriel Hertz, 1731

This philosophical and moral treatise was written by the Jesuit Gracian in about 1647 and has been enormously influential for centuries afterwards, influencing thinkers such as Schopenhauer, Nietzsche and Andre Gide. This copy is an Italian translation from the French translation by Amelot de la Houssaje. Pagination is: Parte Prima, engraved frontispiece dated 1725, xiv, 303; Parte Seconda 1-262 (including numbered title page). Bound in contemporary vellum. Condition internally is excellent, very clean, no marks or inscriptions, externally there is an old repair to the vellum at the top of the spine and rear corner of back cover.

Condition

Condition internally is excellent, very clean, no marks or inscriptions, externally there is an old repair to the vellum at the top of the spine and rear corner of back cover.
