A fine Antique French kingwood bureau / writing desk (Belle Époque, c.1900). The shaped desk is veneered in richly figured kingwood with tulipwood banding and gilt-bronze (ormolu) mounts throughout. The top retains a writing surface, above a frieze with useful drawers (as photographed). Standing on elegant cabriole legs with sabots, this is a refined Parisian piece that brings warmth and presence to a study, library or entrance hall.
