Description
Late Victorian sterling silver inkstand, in the Georgian style, on four scrolled feet. It has three recesses to hold a taperstick and urn shaped pounce pot and inkwell with glass liner, and also has a shallow recess for pen nibs.
Hallmarked in London, 1897, with the makers mark G L for Lambert & Co (George Lambert).
measurements
The stand measures 5" x 3¼" or 143mm wide by 84mm deep. The pounce pot & inkwell measure 40mm wide by 45mm high, and the taperstick measures 43mm high. These have a combined silver weight of 229.3g, and a total item weight of 264g (inc. glass liner).
