Sevres - Maker

The famous Sèvres factory emerged in 1751 having been a continuation of Vincenne Porcelain founded in 1740. With the unique accolade of being owned for nearly the whole of it history by the French Government, Sèvres porcelain rapidly became known for its superior quality matching and overtaking the reputation of Meissen. Their wares would soon grace the tables of Royalty and nobility and the exceptional quality of the decoration can be attributed to the hard-paste porcelain they began using in 1770. Today collectors still admire both the exceptional quality and refined forms of both antique and vintage Sèvres porcelain. At LoveAntiques.com we have a fine selection of Sèvres all from trusted dealers.
