Hand coloured Panoramic view of The City of Worcester seen from across the river with a description and a key listing buildings and places of interest underneath.
Samuel and Nathaniel Buck were brothers born in Richmond, North Yorkshire, around the end of the 17th century. Both were artists and engravers, and together they produced the first comprehensive series of English and Welsh town prospects. Their work began in 1728 and was completed in 1749. In total eighty nine prospects were produced. A few years before Samuel died Robert Sayer purchased the copper plates from him, re-issuing them in 1774 in a volume. The imprints were not altered but were arranged alphabetically by place name and each provided with a plate number in the top right corner.
This map is in great condition and has been professionally re-mounted and framed using a matt black wooden frame. Bearing a Baynton-Williams label au verso.
