Description

This is a substantial antique sterling silver novelty pepperpot in the form of a watering can made by Thos Johnson and hallmarked for London 1879. It is in very good condition and made with a good gauge of silver. Hallmarks are clearly struck to the lid and the base. It also has the stamp of Jenners & Knewstub of St James St, London who held several Royal warrants.

Using the upper handle the top depresses and reveals an opening to fill with pepper.

An interesting Victorian novelty piece of silver from a well known maker.
