Description
An early English walnut drop-leaf dining table, dating from the early 18th century (Queen Anne / Early Georgian period). The table features three solid, well-figured walnut leaves forming a near-square top with attractive double-lobed corners. The plain frieze encloses single gateleg supports to each side, raised on turned tapering legs with offset pad feet. Peg-jointed construction throughout, displaying fine craftsmanship and characteristic early walnut colour variation - including a lighter section of sapwood along one edge, enhancing its authenticity and charm. A notably heavy and substantial piece, made from early, high-quality walnut. An excellent early table in good condition and very much ready for use.
measurements
Height: 70 cm (27 ½"), Width (leaves up): 118.5 cm (46 ⅝"), Width (leaves down): 39.25 cm (15 ½"), Depth: 119.5 cm (47")
