A handsome late 18th-century George III mahogany twin-pedestal extending dining table, crafted in fine, well-figured solid mahogany. The top is formed from three beautifully matched boards with gently rounded corners, resting on a pair of elegant pedestals, each with a ring-turned column and splayed reeded legs terminating in their original brass caps and castors. The removable central leaf allows the table to be used at full dining length, comfortably seating six, or shortened for more intimate settings. With the leaf removed, the two ends may also be used independently as a pair of side or console tables, offering excellent versatility for both modern and period interiors. This is a completely original Georgian example throughout, retaining its early timbers, brasswork, and characterful surface. The wide proportions, graceful stance, and authenticity give the piece real presence, making it an attractive and practical centrepiece for a wide range of interiors.
