Alfred Meakin was a pottery manufacturer who established his company in 1875. He initially operated out of the Royal Albert, Victoria, and Highgate Potteries in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent. Alfred Meakin's company continued to operate under his name even after his death in 1904. His son, Alfred James Meakin, took over, but he also passed away in 1908. The pottery company remained in the family and continued to be known as Alfred Meakin.
