Item of The Week - Early 19th Century Part Tea Service c.1820

With Mothers’ Day just a little over a week away we have chosen this weeks ‘Item of The Week’ with this in mind. Mothers’ Day is of course a day whereby we show our appreciation a little more than normal for our wonderful Mothers, and we shower her with gifts whilst ensuring that she relaxes with her feet up.

Whether it be chocolates, flowers, her favourite perfume or a new handbag, we’re sure she’ll be thrilled with whatever gift she receives but what do you get for the Woman who has all of these things already? Well how about this Incredible Early 19th Century Part Tea Service c.1820?

If your Mother enjoys hosting Tea parties, enjoys Tea for two, or is perhaps even a collector of ceramics then this just may be the gift for her. This wonderful set comprises of a Tea Pot, a Sugar, 2 large Plates, 4 Cups, 4 Saucers, 1 Oval Dish and 1 Jug so it makes for a wonderful Tea set.

In excellent condition despite some restoration, this Georgian set wouldn’t look out of place being showcased on a dresser as a display rather than being put to use; Mum could be forgiven for not wanting to use this almost 200-year-old set. Instead she may wish to admire it from afar and imagine the ladies gone before her who may have sipped from those cups!

Adorned with landscape images depicting cottages, fields of green, bridges and blue skies, these highly decorative ceramics are eye catching and luxurious in their appearance. The blue glazed base is off-set beautifully against the contrast of the Gold gilding which is displayed in the form of trees, branches & foliage or as described by the Dealer selling this item, seaweed formation.

So say ‘Thank You’ to your Mum this Mother’s Day with this fabulous Antique gift.

It is being sold by Windsor House Antiques for £780.
