Item of The Week - 19th Century Carved Walnut Armchair

Whether you buy your furniture for practicality or to make an impression is up to you, as is the decision to follow trends or to simply follow your heart and buy what you are attracted to. Here at LoveAntiques.com we simply encourage you to buy what you love and are happy to assist in serving up some fantastic Antique Furniture pieces, such as this pretty late 19th Century Carved Walnut Armchair.

This gorgeous antique chair would effortlessly blend in to a multitude of decors, but particularly, we think, in a country home. Situated in an entrance hallway this would make a delightful and welcoming place for you to sit, whilst you kick your shoes off after a hard day. Alternatively, it could sit quietly in a bedroom and be used as a decorative piece of furniture or if you think this chair deserves more use than that, then introduce it in to your living room and use it as an eveyday chair.

Crafted from walnut, this charming chair has a shield-shaped back with an interesting frame that displays stunningly intricate leaf carvings, whilst the generous sized seat sits upon a serpentine shaped base with carved cabriole legs at the front and sabre legs to the rear. It has been newly re-upholstered in the loveliest off-white fabric, with trailing leaves and red and blue flowers, complimenting the frame beautifully. The original features on this chair, including the casters and pot wheels have been fully restored bringing this chair back to its former glory and it is ready to find a new home where it can be loved again for years to come.

This superb armchair is for sale from Celia Rose Antiques for £685.
